More details from petition creator

Exercise is vital for health and wellbeing. It has an important therapeutic use in the prevention and treatment in many medical conditions including coronary disease. As a community, we need to help people to help themselves in the management of their own musculoskeletal injuries and in the prevention and treatment of chronic disease.

Local gym equipment is vital to a community-centred approach helping people to keep themselves healthy and fit. This is particularly important for the older population. Local physical activity ventures such as this develop a sense of community through promoting and supporting the health and wellbeing of residents.

There are no outdoor gym facilities in the local area, the nearest being in Pooley Green, which is at the other side of Egham. A local gym for the residents of Englefield Green and its environs would benefit the health and fitness of the local population and promote the unique benefits of an active lifestyle.
